The Automotive Engineering Exposition 2024 YOKOHAMA was held at Pacifico Yokohama in late May.
This exhibition is also scheduled to be held in Nagoya at the Aichi Sky Expo (Aichi International Exhibition Center) from July 17 to July 19.
Our company, together with Sumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd. and Sumitomo Wiring Systems, Ltd. participate in this exhibition every year.
This exhibition is dedicated to automotive technology, and I look forward to it very much every year.
Exhibited Products
Our group exhibited “Battery Cooling Plate: Cool Fit Plate,” “Heat Dissipation and Soundproofing Material: MIF,” “Thin Film High Insulation Material: Finesulight,” and “Automobile Window Film” as products related to EVs, and “Driver Monitoring System” and “Light Transmitting Interior Components” as products related to automatic driving.
An overview of each product is explained in the “Exhibits” section of the press release, so I would like all employees to take a look.
A visit to the exhibition
I headed to Pacifico Yokohama on Thursday, May 23.
From the time the doors opened, there seemed to be no end to the number of visitors to the booths.
The narrator presented the Sumitomo Electric Group's products in turn, and I was listening to it as a visitor when our products were introduced.
Our narrators were busy, but they were lively in explaining to me the advantages of our products.
There was even a line of visitors waiting to see the light-transmitting interior products, indicating the high level of interest in carbon neutrality and a recycling-oriented society among the visitors.
Many people were also interested in the exhibits of MIF, which won the "Aichi Invention Grand Prize," and newspaper reporters who came to cover the event eagerly took notes.
Later I heard that regarding the "Battery Cooling Plate: Cool Fit Plate," there was an inquiry from a person in the battery industry and our company member in charge will visit the company for a detailed explanation.
Therefore, I asked him to respond to the inquiry after carefully coordinating with the relevant persons in the company, since our various departments are connected by various technologies and products.
I visited other companies' booths as much as time allowed and found that there are many products that compete with our products in terms of EVs and other initiatives.
It is important for the entire industry to compete with each other to develop better products.
Therefore, we will try to speed up our response.
Although online exhibitions are well-developed, we were reminded that for companies involved in manufacturing, seeing, touching, and receiving explanations of actual products and samples on the spot is the most exciting.
Our group also needs to further evolve and sublimate the "polymer material technology" and "comprehensive evaluation technology" that we have cultivated over the years and is second to no other companies.
Toward "creating value for a sustainable society," one of the directions set forth in 2029V, let us all work together to develop research and technology, including next-generation mobility evolution and environmentally friendly products.
